Terms of Service Agreement for Clean Slate
Below are our Service Policies, which are designed to ensure quality, safety, and consistency in our work. By using the services of Clean Slate, you agree to adhere to the following policies and procedures:
Privacy Policy
We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or lease customer information to third parties, and we will not disclose your personal or billing details to anyone unless required by law. Your information will only be used to provide the services you request from us.
Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not satisfied with our cleaning service, please notify us within 24 hours of the service. We will return to re-clean (within a 7-day window) at no extra charge.
Security
We take the security of your home very seriously. We work with you to establish a routine for entering and exiting your property, which may include:
Allowing us entry if you’ll be home during the service
Providing us with a spare key
Using a lockbox, keypad, or garage code
Leaving a key under a mat or pot for us to use and return
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of service by Venmo, Zelle, or credit card. Credit card payments paid via invoice will incur a 3.3% processing fee.
Late Cancellation/Rescheduling
To avoid a cancellation fee, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a $50 fee. If we are unable to access the property, or notice of cancellation/rescheduling is given less than 24 hours in advance, we reserve the right to charge you the full cost of the scheduled cleaning.
In cases of unexpected circumstances, we will review late cancellations or schedule changes on a case-by-case basis and may require documentation.
During winter, Clean Slate will follow the weather closings and delays of local public schools. Ensure your driveway, parking lot, sidewalk, and entrance are clear to avoid rescheduling or cancellation fees.
Electricity and Water
We cannot work effectively in a house without electricity or running water. Please ensure that your home - especially if it is empty and in the middle of being sold/bought/turned over - will have electricity and running water on the day of service.
Preparing for Service
We ask that you don't clean before we arrive but kindly pick up personal items such as clothing, toys, and small objects such as coins, important documents, other personal clutter. Don’t worry about moving appliances or small furniture – we clean and move those as we go. This type of pick up will allow us to focus more on detail and quality for you
For safety reasons, please set your home’s temperature to 68-72°F, especially in summer. We cannot work in excessively hot or freezing cold environments.
The Setting
The best scenario is when no one is home during the cleaning. If you prefer to be present, please minimize distractions and secure pets and children in a separate room to allow us to work efficiently.
Trash Disposal
We leave collected trash in the homeowner's garbage bin. We are unable to take trash with us.
Quality Control
We value your feedback! After your visit, we may reach out via email or text requesting your input on our service. This system helps us address any concerns and improve our services.
Pets
We love them! The last thing we want to do is upset your pets as we clean, and we'll work with you to make the experience pleasant for all involved. The following are our policies regarding pets:
Let us know ahead of time if there are any arrangements you have in place for your pets while we clean.
For sanitary purposes, we do not clean up after sick pets or pet accidents.
Please secure any pet that may be overwhelmed by our presence and/or pose a threat.
Please secure any pet that is likely to try to run out the door and escape the house. The obligation for control and care of all animals on the premises is on the customer. Clean Slate Cleaning Services cannot be held responsible for the escape or safety of pets.
Products
We will use only high-quality, non-toxic cleaning products for all cleaning services to ensure your health and safety. If you require specific products for your home, you must notify us prior to the scheduled cleaning for approval.
If you have a personal vacuum, including an in-home system (e.g., central vacuum), we are happy to use it. If no personal vacuum is available, we will bring our own vacuum equipment to complete the service.
Breakage and liability
While we take utmost care to avoid breakage, accidents can happen. We will not be responsible for breakage resulting from "booby-traps" (unstable items, unsecured pictures, etc.). If breakage occurs, we will evaluate the situation and may offer repair or replacement based on the item’s value. Breakage must be reported within 3 days of discovery.
You are responsible for securing fragile, valuable, or irreplaceable items before the cleaning service. In the event of an accident or damage, Clean Slate will only be liable for damages resulting directly from gross negligence or willful misconduct, and only to the extent that the damage is substantiated and agreed upon by both parties.
Service Limitations
Our cleaning technicians do not use ladders higher than two steps and cannot perform certain tasks due to safety or insurance concerns. Some tasks we do not offer include:
Disassembling light fixtures, furniture, or appliances (except for oven racks and fridge shelves)
Lifting or moving furniture over 15 lbs
Removing permanent stains or steam cleaning carpets
Cleaning walls or ceilings
We also do not provide pest extermination or mold remediation services and reserve the right to refuse service if hazardous situations are present, such as pest infestations or mold growth.
Pricing
For first-time services, the price is based on the size of your home and the work required. Our cleaner will assess the home’s needs upon arrival and let you know if additional time is needed for an hourly rate.
For recurring services, pricing is fixed, but we will reassess if the workload changes significantly.
